I am new to the whole nudist culture (I'd just stumbled across your site) -- I like to think of myself as extremely open minded so bought a couple of the videos just out of curiosity.
I was amazed! It was SO fascinating to discover that this culture existed and I'd known nothing about it! It is certainly VERY different that the typical American way of life -- I actually thought it looked very wholesome and healthy. I think we have way too many hang-ups in this country regarding nudity (vs. sex) and think that a LOT of the problems that we Americans (myself included) have regarding sexuality can be attributed to our cultural taboos concerning our bodies.
I found it VERY refreshing (and amazing!) that large groups of nude people could mingle so freely and non-self-consciously. I can't help but think these people would more mentally healthy than your typical American.
I'd love to see some additional comments in the "Frequently Asked Questions" concerning the "mechanics" of this culture -- eg: how common are these groups in Eastern Europe (where most of the vid's seem to be located)? Are these nudist clubs or just spontaneous "clothing optional" events at generic vacation resorts? Are there health/cleanliness issues? How are nudity issues so completely distinguished from sexuality issues in these countries? (-- seems like this would need to be instilled from early childhood).
Thanks again for the unique website and fascinating glimpse into a culture very different from my own.

I ordered some of the Helios videos and I am very impressed with them in every way. It seemed like such a wholesome and refreshingly relaxed atmosphere. It bothers me that we as Americans are so uptight about nudity. In fact, I am curious how it is that these tapes can "be legal in all counties of all 50 states." I don't want to do anything illegal, and I was concerned to read in your literature that Jock Sturges had the FBI break into his studio in 1990 to seize alleged child pornography. Can you explain the law in this area? I'd feel a lot more comfortable with some background. Thanks a lot, and keep up the great work.
Webmaster: As I understand it, the FBI felt that some of Sturges' images fell under the legal definition of 'lewd and lascivious exhibition of the genitals of a person under 18'. Basically such exhibitions are the type that would be found in Playboy, where the genitals are the primary focus of the photograph. The courts use many criteria to make the determination, including: the angle the photo was taken at (the cameraman below the waistline of the model is a no no), the focus (genitals center of the focus is a no no), the position of the model (stripping, hips thrust to camera, legs spread, .... all are no nos.) Legitimate Naturist photography does not fall under this definition, which was designed to criminalize child pornography not Naturist documentaries or other innocent portrayals of children and families. By the way, in the Supreme Court Case of Knox, it Congress specified that a lewd and lascivious exhibition of the genitals does not require that the subject be nude. In fact, the person can be fully clothed and the image still be illegal to own. Jock Sturges was cleared of any wrongdoing and he has since sold hundreds of thousands of books. Everything we sell is reviewed by the nation's leading attorneys in First Amendment Law. I would be very interested in ordering some of your videos. I live in Germany, and have two questions I would like to know the answer to:
1. German customs have a tendency to make life hard on you, specially if an invoice is not included with the package. Do you include an invoice?

2. You are probably not the correct ones to ask (but no one here seems to be able to give me an answer), but are these items legal to import into Germany (they have some very peculiar laws regarding mail order of rated materials)?
Regarding question 2 and naturist material, they are not illegal to own here (if you are over 18), but are highly unavailable to the general public, since they are - I believe - not allowed to be sold in mainstream stores.

Webmaster: First noting that I am not an expert, by any means, on German law, we have been shipping to Germany (and everywhere else in the world) for years without any difficulty. One of our attorneys is familiar with German law and has said that there is nothing in German law prohibiting the Naturist material we carry. The reason they are not in stores probably has more to do with the small size of Naturist distributors -- there is a relatively small market for nudist documentaries, compared to cookbooks, novels, dictionaries, travel guides, etc.
I recently purchased Ivana Kupala. You were right, some of the best video
quality I have seen in quite some time. The shots were well lit, the audio
(albeit I need to bone up on my Russian) was excellent and the shots were
innocent and candid. My hats off to the video team. I was equally
impressed with the stability off the video feed. This was obviously a
wooded setting with uneven terrain which to navigate. The videographer
compensated for that by cutting from scene to scene rather than "walking"
the camera, an excellent choice. On that topic, the scenes were cut into
groups which made the event enjoyable rather than jumping around like so
many other videos.
After twenty minutes into the video, I knew that this video was different, I
am definitely considering purchasing the complete set.

I am wondering, with the growing number of DVD players, will there be any plans of releaseing the Videos as DVD. I would snap them all up if they were.
Webmaster: We expect to see Naturist videos available on DVD in about a year. Currently the cost for small run DVDs is prohibitive -- the retail cost would end up at about $150 per DVD rather than the current $50.00. As soon as the media prices come down, many of these titles will be available on DVD.

I must commend you on your new site layout. It is certainly easier to navigate, job well done. However, I do have one question...where are the new Russian videos from holynature? I was at there site, and the video captures from the videos look like they should be very high quality tapes. Other than that, I have no complaints. Although you could knock off a few dollars on the beauty pagent tapes :)

They will be prominently displayed on the website as soon as they come available. I agree, the pagent tapes are high priced, reflecting the price that we pay for them. That particular producer charges us more than the others. The vast majority of our videos are in the $40.00 to $50.00 range, which is where most customers feel comfortable.

Hi, I just ordered two videos on Monday and received them today, Thursday. Very fast service. I ordered Mom's and Daughters and Petra's Birthday and I am very happy with both videos. Quality is excellent! I've ordered naturist videos from other companies before, the quality just wasn't there. I'm very impressed with everything so far. I guess my only complaint is that the videos could be a little longer, like 90 minutes perhaps. Other than that, they are great. I will definately be ordering more in the future. Thanks...

I have recently placed my first orders here and can only wonder why I waited so long. I didn't quite know what I expected but have to admit that I experienced a refreshing sense of freedom and joy from watching EUROPA SWIMMING POOL. My one regret here is that the quality of the video was not consistent. The screen had a tendency to distort frequently. A fact which started to give me a headache after a short while. I must reiterate, though, that the video content was top notch! Please reassure me that this is an isolated case. Thank-you.

I joined a site from this site that had pictures from the videos and now it is not available or I cannot locate it. Does anybody know the link to it. It had a three month membership and the pictures where added once a month. Thank you.
Webmaster: The site is called gototheshow.com. It received an overload of bandwidth when hackers released user names and passwords on public sites. The server is being upgraded to provide faster access by members and to handle the problem of multiple users using the same passwords. All memberships will be extended by 30 days. The site is expected to be operational again on July 15, 2000.

I am new to this site and I must say it looks great. I am looking forward to watch the interesting videos soon. I just would like to know the difference between the two shipping costs for overseas. I mean $25 or $45 for air mail or $6 or $12 for surface mail. Since I read the lovely feedback and will probably order many videos over a longer period of time, it would be lovely too if it were possible to be able to get some %-age off ordering 3 or more videos and not 10! Ordering 10 would cost, as I calculated, quite a lot of money... An improvement suggestion would be to let new videos be of 90 mins. length at least and have short preview in .mpeg or .avi format for them! Bad idea? :)

Webmaster: The difference in shipping costs is due to the number of titles, as indicated on the order form. We determine shipping costs based on an average. Those who order several titles at once save on shipping per title compared to those who order just 1. This pricing makes things simple and offers an incentive for ordering more than one title. Video lengths and prices are determined by the producers.

Right now conversion costs for small runs would bring DVD retail prices around the $100.00 range, which we think is still too high. Perhaps in a year or two prices will be right. We keep checking.
